What stays on your device

Your family profile

The ages, names, interests, allergies and area you tell Sanuk are saved in your browser, not with us. Press Forget in Sanuk and they are gone.

Your day plans and trip

Saved in your browser. A share link carries the stops, times and how many adults and kids, never names.

Allergies

Never sent to us. When an answer names a place that serves food, your own device adds the reminder to ask the kitchen.

What we keep, why, and for how long

You never have to give us anything to use the site. Without an email address we cannot make you a member or write back to you.

A question to Sanuk

Your question goes to our server with the names, ages, interests and area from your profile, so the answer fits your family. We keep the question itself, up to 500 characters, for 90 days, to find what parents ask that the site cannot answer yet. The rest is not stored. The reason: you asked, and our interest in making the guide better.

Joining as a member

Your first name, your email address and a sign-in cookie, plus any days you save. Kept until two years after you last used it, or until you ask us to delete it. The reason: you asked to join.

Listing a business

The contact's name, email and phone stay private; the business details are public once a person approves them. Kept two years after we last dealt with it. The reason: you asked us to list it.

Owner emails

We email the address a business shows on its own website, so the owner can check their page, and we note when it was sent, opened and answered. Kept two years after the last contact. The reason: our interest in a correct guide.

Messages to us

The contact form and mail to any samuikids.com address go to our team's inbox and our mailbox system. Both keep them no more than 90 days after the last message. The reason: you asked us something.

Photos

The photo, its caption and what it shows. We strip the location data a camera hides in the file, and a person checks every photo before it appears. Approved photos are public. A rejected photo is deleted at once, and its record 90 days later. Please no children's faces. The reason: you chose to share it.

Reports from parents

The fact you report and any note. Your own words appear on a page only after a person approves them. Kept two years. The reason: our interest in a correct guide.

Keeping the site safe

We never store your internet address. We store a scrambled code made from it, to stop floods of posts and password guessing. Those marks are deleted after a day; where the code sits on a photo or report, it goes when that does. Our host also keeps short request logs to run and protect the site. The reason: our interest in a working, safe site.

Cookies

Only three, none for tracking: member sign-in (one year), staff sign-in (eight hours) and your language (one year).

Who else handles it

We never sell your data or share it for anyone's advertising. These companies run parts of the site for us and use the data only for that:

Vercel

hosts the site. A US company; the site runs in Singapore.

Supabase

our database. A US company; the data is stored in Singapore.

Resend

sends and receives our email. A US company.

Anthropic

an AI company in the US. We use its tools to sort the questions parents ask, and its models do not train on them.

Your rights

You can ask to see or get a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, move it, have it deleted, limit how we use it, or object to it. Where you gave consent, you can take it back at any time. Write to hello@samuikids.com and we will answer within 30 days.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC): 120 Moo 3, Chaeng Watthana Road, Thung Song Hong, Lak Si, Bangkok 10210, phone 02 111 8800, complaint.pdpc.or.th.

Children

SamuiKids is for parents. What a parent tells Sanuk about their children stays on the device. Only the names and ages go with a question, to shape the answer, and they are not stored. Allergies never leave the device.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
